Interesting. Not holding my breath.
IF it was true, too bad they can't get them by the beginning of December in time for holiday shopping. They'd sell A LOT more that way. ...probably.

Sounds familiar. I'm at the point where I'm hoping it happens just to stem the constant tide of rumors.

cwa, you know that as soon as the iPhone lands on Verizon, the rumor mill is going to get started on the iPhone coming to TMobile and/or Sprint. If it comes to them, then it's going to be all about the smaller regional carriers. It's never ending for people who are clearly very bored with their lives.

Too true -- and unfortunate.

Oddly, I hope it goes to Verizon. When and if it does this will not only ease the congestion on AT&Ts network, as all the lemming jump ship again, but it will highlight just how good Verizons network isn't.

Well we won't really get the full effect of several million iPhone users crushing Verizon's network the way we did with AT&T since I'm betting a good chunk of them will still be with AT&T despite it being available on Verizon. So instead of the entire iPhone user base shifting to Verizon, I imagine it's going to be more like spreading them out to balance the load.

It's too bad, it definitely would have been funny to watch Verizon crumple under the pressure :p

I always get a kick out of watching my verizon friends wait and wait and wait for web to load on "nations biggest 3G network"

That's funny. I get a kick out of watching my HTC Incredible smoke my coworker's 3GS downloading anything.

A Verizon iPhone on a 1 year contract would be an interesting option when my 9 month upgrade option kicks in around March. Then again, Android Gingerbread may be available by then. It's all daydreaming until then. Fun to do though.

I just wish apple would quit with all of the secretive crap.

My phone is at the end of it's life-cycle (blackberry storm). Doing all the things a phone does when it's ready to irritate you into buying another phone.

That droid-x is looking awfully appealing, but if there was a confirmation that iPhone was coming, I might hold off for a bit. Surely, I can't be the only one thinking this, and it must affect sales.

Go for the Droid, as it is available now. Who knows how long you will be waiting on an iPhone. If it does make it to Verizon you can sell the X and probably still get a good price for it on the used market.

I just got out of my Storm 2 weeks ago for the Droid and it is a whole different animal! I won't be looking to Blackberry again.

My guess is that a VZW iPhone would be launched in June like every other iPhone. You'd just have 2 carrier choices.

Be sure to play with the X in person before you commit. It's less of a phone and more of a tablet. I wouldn't want to try to put it in my pocket, that's for sure. IMO, the Droid Incredible is a much better phone than both the X and the Droid 2.

It'd agree with Chris in trying before you buy. I have a DX and find it perfectly sized. Others however feel it's a bit much to carry. It fits in my khakis and Levis just fine.

The problem with Verizon is that moving to them will require buying a new unit. If I could just pop a Verizon SIM into my iPhone and go, then I'd switch in a heartbeat. Even if I had to jailbreak the iPhone and then put in a Verizon SIM, that might be okay too (that the phone needs jailbreaking is a sin in and of itself, though). But buying a new unit just to be compatible with their CDMA network -- no way.

FYI, the only Verizon sims that you will find out there are installed in the quad-band world phones, and Verizon only has a few of those on the market. All other Verizon phones are CDMA based and use no sim. Your current iPhone will never work on Verizon, so if it is Verizon you desire when and if the iPhone comes there is no other option than new hardware.
