Question about changing iPhone 3Gs to 4

Thinking of upgrading and giving my 3Gs to my mother, how do I remove myself as the owner of that handset so my mother can register it in her name?

Plug it into power - head for:
Settings
General - scroll all the way to the bottom
Reset
Erase all Content and Settings
Confirm it - both times
It can take a long time, as in I've heard an hour or more
But don't think it took that long on mine.
