Airport Extreme losing internet connectivity

Hello! I really hope someone has a resolution for my Airport Extreme.

I am running a model I got in 2008. For almost a year I've had to reset my Airport Extreme about every 8-12 hours in order to have internet access to my different devices.

I've tried changing a plethora of settings to fix this, and have had no luck. I'm really about to throw it out the window and buy something other than an Apple Airport Extreme. I've been extremely dissatisfied with it.

Any suggestions? I am running the latest firmware as well.

In Airport Utility under internet under TCP/IP configure IPv4 do you have set using DHCP
and not manually?

Yes, I have DHCP selected.

I'm thinking perhaps it is a defective router. I wonder if this has been a common problem.

I believe mine is slightly older and no problems so far there was a problem on
the Express when they first came out making it to the 2yr mark.
