Hello,

I am switching from Linux to Mac OS X.

I Linux I was used to be able to toggle between buttons in a dialog window (for example asking me something and giving me the possibilities Yes and No) using Tab. Often there is a default choice (as on Mac OS X often too). In order to select this default choice, I can just hit Enter. But what if I want to choose another button? Is there any way to do this using the keyboard?

cross.

using Tab

There are two settings for Tab. Head for System Preferences - Keyboard - Keyboard Shortcuts.

Check the bottom of the window.

Thank you very much. Thus is what I was looking for. Now I can switch between the buttons using Tab.

But how to I select (i.e. "click") a button using the keyboard. If I hit enter, then the default choice is used (if there is one). What do I have to do to "click" the selected button using the keyboard?

If you select a file/folder/drive and then press the apple key (either side of the space bar), then I, this gives you a info on whatever's selected. Apple + o opens the file/folder. Apple + e will eject a drive.

There are a few more, but those are the ones I use most frequently.

Hope this helps. :Cool:

Try using the spacebar. That should do the trick.
