I have started working on a Mac-Forums RSS Screensaver for Tiger. Right now I just took the apple one, and changed the URL of the rss feed. As soon as I can figure out the developer tools, I want to slow down the animation, and make it so you can have like a "Hit 1 to go to URL" feature. This is VERY MUCH a work in progress, and I really don't know what I'm doing. So, if anybody else wants to try, wip out those developer tools! I am currently trying to get my iDisk to work (I just installed Tiger and all my internet related things are acting odd), and when it does I'll upload Version .1!

Go to your developer tools, and it's called "Quartz Composer." (thats where the software Apple gives u to do it is anyways...)

Don't forget to "click the little checkbox" (universal binary). I lauged so hard when the guy from Mathematica was on stage at the WWDC.

Here is my Version .1! Just unzip it and copy it into the screen saver folder in your library and it will appear in the list in prefferences!

Hey nice work!
2 issues on my 1Ghz iBook (no Core Imaging):

1. The background text scrolls a little fast - superhuman android (Mr Data) reading speed required :)
2. The scrolling animation was a bit jerky...
3. How about a different background texture?

I know it's only version .1 though, so you might have already fixed this ;)
Just trying to make constructive comments!

Great work!

Very nice job Graphite. Pretty much what I was going for, but had no idea of how to do! lol

Thanks for the constructive comments Aptmunich. I totally agree with you, and those are the exact things I was planning to fix with my version. I'll dabble with the software later and use this as a project to learn how to do this stuff!

Hey Graphite, on my computer pushing the number by each post doesn't work. I fixed mine and it's pretty much identical in behavior to yours (Same speed, same scrolling motions, etc.), but I left the original blue background, and the number works. If you have the time, I'd love it if you could modify it for some different colors or just turn it to that red that you used (I can't figure out how to change the colors, lol)...

Thanks!

Well im lazy, so I just added numbers to mine :D and called it 1.1

I cannot put it on MU or VT because I also put in the apple symbol and thats not legal.. but numbers work and for us :) it works.
