Apple Mail not automtaiclly syning with Exchnage

So I am using Exchange 2007 with Apple Mail, I have the 'check for mail' settings set to every 1 minute. Yet I still only get mail when i click send/receive.

any ideas, I never had this problem it Outlook on Windows?

Try sending a test message to the Exchange account from another email account and see how long it takes. From my experience, Mail is sometimes a few minutes behind even with "instantaneous" Exchange accounts.
