windows file extension

i just downloaded a file with my mac and it is for PC and it says .iso on the end, is this a windows disk images and is there a way of burning it to disk with windows?

.iso images can be read on linux and mac. It can be read on windows but needs a program to do it (dont know what it is tho). to burn it in windows you need nero. But i would just burn it in disk utility on the mac and then the disk will work with windows.
