I need to know what is a good free video capturer? like so i can play a DVD on my mac and then record it and post it youtube or somewhere? Thanks!

That would be against the forum laws as it would be against the US Copyright laws. You'd be illegally copying from a copyrighted DVD.
And besides the DVD player has a built in copyright protection, try doing a screenshot when some movie is playing you'll get nothing but grey.

No i dont mean it like that, i have intention of copyright my friend made a DVD and he was to put it on Youtube, but he can't cause he doesn't know how and like how do i take a video of my desktop to show like a tutorial or something??
