Now, question is, if you had it before the update, does the update alert you, or get rid of it?

Apple's preferred style would be to simply get rid of it.

Of course, we have to bear in mind that malware is still incredibly rare on the Mac, thanks in part to measures like these. Using common sense and not downloading dodgy crap is another factor Mac users will need to practice as well.

And can you tell me how this supposed iPhoto Application is going to get installed on the OS?

I really do not trust Sophos at all.

I think one can generally assume that Safari has a fraudulent website alert for this specific reason.

My question happens to be, how does this guy know what Apple is calling by one name is something Sophos calls by another name.

He talks out of both sides of his face, saying on the one hand that it's been distributed since April and on the other hand that they have not seen a single case of infection. Huh?

And once again he says, supposedly only being distributed through pirated or what people think to be pirated software.
