Hey everyone!

Wondering if you can help. I bought a second hand iMAC a few months back. It didnt come with any operating discs. I want to dual boot with Windows 7 and have seen many tutorials on how to do this, but all of them require the operating disc for mac.

I have windows 7 with a serial, and I can borrow my mates iMac operating discs which are version 10.6.2. Although my Imac is 10.6

Will this be a problem? Will I lose all my data and applications if I do this?

Your help would be grateful.

Thanks

Buy a copy of Snow Leopard. It's against the Apple EULA to install the same copy of OS X on more than one computer unless it's the family pack. You're going to need your own copy anyway.... the install media also acts as a diagnostic program in addition to the installation.

After you purchase your own copy of Snow Leopard, post your questions regarding dual booting in our Windows forum and someone will be glad to assist you in setting up Boot Camp to dual boot SL and Win 7.

Regards.
