I've just read that Google have released a stable version of Chrome (for Mac also). Has anyone tried this yet? I actually like using Chrome on my Win 7 PC at work but I wouldn't go near it on my MacBook at home. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this or has any opinions on it. I've always been a big fan of Firefox but I'm sorta bored of it now (is it possible to be bored of a browser?)...

Have a great day everyone :)

Cool. Will go and grab it. I've used the beta on my iMac and it's been perfect. I like it a lot.
Thanks for the heads up.

I have been using it since the beta and I like it a lot.
It has become my preferred browser in no time.

I've been using Chrome since the first mac beta, and love it. I've been using it in my ubuntu VM and as my main browser in OS X. The only thing, is it sometimes becomes unresponsive loading gizmodo or other gawker sites and cnet occasionally... knock on wood, nothing like that since the official Chrome 5 release.

I've been running the Chromium nightlies for months now so this release isn't anything special but it's nice to know that Google finally removed the beta label. In all honesty, Chromium on the Mac has been stable for months.

Now all they need to do is release a freakin 64 bit OS X version. I'm on the 64 bit debian/ubuntu version right now.

Even in my VM, the speed difference is noticeable from the last beta.

And let me know when they get their acts together in terms of being able to perform:

1. Mouse gestures without really craptastic hacks which consume tons of memory
2. OS X trackpad swipe gestures such as three finger up and down for beginning or end of page transitions.

Till then, FF and Opera are better options for me.

Shockwave Flash plugin running cpu at 100+, I'll pass. New Gala flash running at 20-30, HTML5 10-20 % Chrome is the worst by far, even HTML5 is high.

I'm not at my Mac right now but I'm willing to bet that it's the same across browsers (except for perhaps HTML5 video). The problem with Shockwave and Flash sites isn't the browser - it's the plugin.
