Burning cds

Tried burning a data cd through finder and it only gave me a burn speed of 8x. I have a superdrive, and since this is a CD, it would burn at 24x. Am I wrong? I dont believe its the media, because they are imation musics, which i burn at 48x on the PC.

Whats the deal?

I have had some issues with some discs that burn much slower than rated. I had a set of Ritek DVD-R's that burned at 4x even though they were 8x (8x burner which burns everything else 8x)

Sometimes just burning something can be such a hassle. I too have had problems, both burning and ripping music, and the advertised speed. However, I have eaisly reached 24x.

Try a 3rd party burning software such as DiscBlaze.
