Do I really need a hardware mixer to achieve channel separation with Skype?

Setup:
I have Skype outputting to Soundflower.

My microphone outputs to LineIn and gets passed thru to Soundflower.

Soundflower then outputs to GarageBand so I can record Skype calls.

Problem:
When I record a Skype call, Skype's audio output comes across both left and right channels and gets mixed with my mic's audio inside of Soundflower. So there doesn't appear to be a way to isolate my mic's audio from Skype's audio without using some other device.

Question:
It seems to me there should be some kind of software solution to this. Is there anything I can use that could take the output of Skype and process it so that only the right channel gets sent to Soundflower?

Or is the only solution to get a hardware mixer to solve this problem?

Thanks.
