security while surfing wireless

20" 2.4 GHz iMac w/ 4GB RAM & 320GB HD
what do you guys recommend for added security when surfing wireless? my whole campus(LSU) and downtown area is wireless, so once i get my laptop i'll be using that a lot

The way I understand wireless, it works exactly like normal wired connection. Just make sure the sites your using that require high security are SSL.

Not exactly the same but close enought that you don't have to worry about any body trying to get into your computer... Wireless networks are just more open because any body who gets with in range can connect unless there is security... at a college I don't think you will have to worry.

Macworld, among other magazines, has had great articles about internet/network security and ways to prevent intruders. Many of their suggestions are over the top, but you can never be too safe.
