Why is it that macs start off slow and then as they are on they get faster and faster?

If I am reading what you are asking correctly I would say, OSX cache's Applications when first started. After they are cached things are a lot faster. If I try to launch any application when it first comes to the desktop, it takes 1-2 more bounces. Later that same app opens FAST. That is why it's important to give OSX as much RAM as possible.
