Russian President Medvedev suggests texting instead of costly in-person meetings.

"In this case, we could just have a couple of iPhones and we could just exchange text messages or e-mails. I am quite familiar with that, as well as President Obama, as far as I understand." (Obama has a BlackBerry.)

According to the article, President Medvedev is very much into technology and using his iPhone.

It seems that history is repeating itself.

In Gorbachev, Reagan found a man he could deal with, in fact, much to the surprise of the Sate Department, the two very much hit it off.

Now Obama and Putin have got together to restart START (forgive the pun). Russia is also a country that has an Islamic terrorist thread, so the two countries can profit from close collaboration.

Good that they can use the iPhone for that.

Maybe Apple can run a new advert, "arms limitation, there's an app for that".
