Applications Folder

When I started my Apple this morning I noticed that the applications folder normally in the dock was not there. How do I get it back there? Thanks.

Drag it from Finder back to the right side of your dock.

I must be doing something wrong. All I do when I drag "Applications" to the right side of the dock is remove it from the "Places" selection. Get it back through sidebar preferences, but I'm going in an endless circle with no positive result.

Don't use the Applications folder that is in the sidebar. Find the Application folder that is just to the right of the sidebar in the main Finder window. Drag that into the right side of the dock as Van suggested.
