I saw it referenced already in this (http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/ipad-hardware-accessories/190635-ipad-tethering.html) thread, but until I read a magazine article yesterday I was unaware that GPS is only available (according to the magazine) with the 3GS model iPad.

Can anyone confirm this? I have both a Wi-Fi and 3GS model on order. For me, the GPS is a must have feature.

I believe this is true.

I am not happy about it either :(

You mean there is a 3G and a 3Gs iPad?

No - there is a WiFi only version and one with both WiFi and 3G.

3GS is the latest version of the iPhone - it just means faster that the original 3G iPhone, i.e. the S means Speed.

Nothing - the OP mistyped.

The iPad with WiFi & 3G is the model that comes with a GPS chip.

I wonder how much it would cost per month to get the 3G on the iPad....
