Well this should keep those in the "I Want One" category happy if the rumour is true. It looks like going down the same road as the original iPhone release.

The 3g to come out 30days later WOOP WOOP ;P

I doubt my Dad wants to stand in line at the Albuquerque Uptown Apple Retail Store for hours just to get an iPad..much less for me. My Mom wants one, but I think she can wait til May or December (Mother's Day or her birthday/Christmas).

I'm heading to college later this year, I really don't want one as of this point in my life LOL. However, I am totally unsure of whether or not I should use my Toshiba laptop in college (running Windows 7) or buy a brand new MacBook before going to college.

I'm anxious to get my hands on the iPad, but I'm not going to camp out in front of the Apple store to get one.

As soon as I can order one online I will pull the trigger.

I got double thoughts on this. First, i do wish to buy an Ipad for the wife. Though I am thinking I may wait for the second gen to arrive. Second, it is money i can divert towards my imac by waiting.

When the store has one available I will take the wife and let her decide I am happy with
the MBP and iPhone for my use.

I'll probably buy it over the summer...that is if my girlfriend doesn't buy it for me before then

I believe at the January 27th announcement that the estimate for iPad availability was something like 60-90 days.

So an iPad release on March 26th would simply be inline with the January 27th announcement...so no surprises!

If for some reason the iPad was available earlier...then that would be news worthy of a special headline!

For all the naysayers, there are several existing threads in the iPad forum covering all these finer points already. This thread is not that place.

The Apple Store in Belfast [Northern Ireland] told me last week it is out the last Friday in March.

iPad Available in US on April 3 -- CUPERTINO, Calif., March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --

Wi-Fi Model out on 3rd April in US - 3G end of April. Pre-orders from 12th March.

For UK, Australia, Canada, and western Europe both models out end of April. Prices and pre-orders beginning of April.

If I get one it will be wifi only as I would likely use it around the house for the most part. I already pay for my cable data plan and my wife and I have Droids which each have data plans, I don't feel like paying any more for internet access. It's crazy enough as it is.

Originally when I first saw the ipad. I joked that I would be standing in line at the store the day they got them in. However, now I want to see for sure what is and isn't on it and read the reviews from folks that have used them for a few days, as I may wait for the second gen.

Will pre-order March 12.

Just want to note for the record that Mac Rumors was WRONG. This is why I don't put a lot of stock in rumor sites, everyone forgets what a miserable track record they actually have.

I will order and see what happens

iPad Release Date Announced

iPad release date has been announced. The Wifi version will be available for purchase on April 3rd, 2010. According to the Apple website, you can pre-order your iPad starting March 12th through the website or reserve for pickup at an Apple store.

I'm waiting to check one of these "toilet-tops" out in person and see how it fits. I think it would be a perfect bathroom computer. Certainly takes up less space than a bunch of magazines and shop manuals. Seriously, a netbook is hard to balance sitting in there!

My Acer 8.9" Netbook works fine for me in the mens room. It's the larger laptops like my 15" Compaq that want to fall off my lap when sitting and reading. Even my iBook 12" is a bit much.

I do agree the iPad would be perfect for those long restroom visits though as there is no screen hanging at an angle trying to make it fall off your lap!.

It will probably be a while before I can get an iPad. $$$ issues but I will get one almost for sure.
