Two different accounts of the same very sad story. The main lesson to be learnt here is don't let video games rule your life to the point you try to kill someone because of it.

I thought this was a joke, but there was a blurb about it on CNN.

I can't sit still long enough to play a game like that. During my undergrad I tried to play EverQuest and I noticed the game's book was bigger than the book for my Christmas Break class.

I did not think it was video game related. It was more of a sad old lonely guy with no self control while under the influence. Drinking while playing games? Take a trip to a bar man.

I always thought not being one of those WoW playing nerds would help me get ahead in the ID industry.
It doesn't.

.. When you have no self-control (and possible anger/rage issues), and a drinking problem.

People always blame their issues on other things just like you did.

'I have no drinking problem, it's just a slight anger issue"
or "I don't have a gambling problem, I just don't like excersing and am more in an indoors person".

Call it what you will, but you can becone addicted to playing video games. And I know this in itself is not a big problem. But the really bad things happem when you combine this gaming addiction with amger management and drinking issues and you have a lethal combination.

Totally agree. Video games can be very addicting. Really, some of these newer games are pretty immensive.

I blame Canada.
