Hi everyone! I'm not new to Apple, have had an iPod and iPhone for a couple of years, but am fairly new to the world of Macs. I bought a Macbook from a family member a few months ago. First time using a Mac and so far I'm in love! I still use a Dell laptop for work and I must say that it aggravates me every day. I find solace in coming home to my Macbook.

I'm still learning the Mac ways and researching the must have software. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm currently running Leopard, but have Snow Leopard on its way. Had thought about upgrading to iLife 09 but probably will wait until whenever the next version comes out. My luck, I'd upgrade and iLife 10 would come out the next day.

Looking forward to getting knee deep in the threads :D

Yeah, I'd wait for iLife '10. As far as software, there are a number of threads on here that would help you better and be more comprehensive than most members can remember off the top of their heads. Do a search, welcome to the world of macs and have a great weekend!

Hi everyone! I'm not new to Apple, have had an iPod and iPhone for a couple of years, but am fairly new to the world of Macs....

Welcome to the forum.

Perhaps an easier way of answering you would be if you told us what you're missing from Windows and we can tell you if there's anything available for your Mac that can do the same (or ideally, better) job for you.

Congrats on the purchase though - Mac's are awsome and the OS is perfect!

Cheers,

Dave.
