Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if I can use 24bit wav files in Garageband. I'm looking to download some drum loops/producer packs to use to make some simple drum beats to use in a DJ set.

As far as I can tell, I can use 16bit wav files but not sure about 24bit?

If I can't use 24bit, can I convert them to 16bit and what is the best way of doing this.

I'm new to all this so sorry if any of the above sounds stupid!!

Cheers

From what I can remember is that 24-bit recording in GarageBand requires a Mac OS X-compatible audio interface with support for 24-bit audio. If not, you can import 24Bit audio but exporting it will be 16Bit.

Yes it will import. It's not a big difference to make it 16 bit. In fact to CD's use 16 bit in order to play so when you bounce to disk or Export it you compress and lose sound quality.

Thanks for the replies.

Think I'll just but it and see what happens.
