safari death loop

I was doing some work and accidently had a js function which was throwing an alert go into an infinite loop. I was viewing the page in Safari and I can't get it closed now...won't let me quit. How can I terminate Safari? Can I do it from terminal?

Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor

Click safari and end process

option+command+esc
