Top 10 Reasons Why Mac Sucks - CollegeTimes

My friend sent me this link because he said he gets tired of me telling him to get a Mac whenever he has problems...

Him: "I keep getting the BSOD and system freezes on my top of the line 2010 Dell netbook that I bought for $200."
Me: "Get a Mac."

Him: "My clutch just went out on my 87 Ford Escort."
Me: "Get a Mac."

Him: "I caught my wife cheating on me but I still love her."
Me: "Kick her out, get a 26 year old girlfriend and then get a Mac." (Ok... I'm j/k on that one... bless him :D)

It won't work though. I will continue to pester any and all who complains about Windoze problems because I'm "very satisfied with my purchase". :D

I can refute all 10 points made in that article, but, in interests to avoid any sort of war on this forum, the only argumentative side I want to type up here:

The columnist is a Microsoft fan, who, in essence, is irritated and tired of his PC's crashes, and the fact that you cannot make money off of making your own Linux distribution just ticks him off. So, to relieve his stress of owning cheap hardware and an OS that isn't worth spending a $150 +/- activation license for, or using an OS that, while great in doing the everyday, is the same flavor through and through regardless of whether it is KDE or GNOME, DSL or Ubuntu, decides to take it out on a computer company that stands out- and whose products perform to a higher standard- and chooses to "Think Different" (Apple Inc. 1997).

So here's to the Microsoft fan's: Without you, you wouldn't have anything to complain about!

 Think Different.

Think about it.

If that was supposed to be funny, I don't get it.

There are only 2 types of people that buy a Mac:

1) Wannabe nerdy-types that are trying to prove how knowledgeable they are about everything in the tech world
2) Wannabe hipster-types that are trying to prove how knowledgeable (read: trendy and/or “not trendy”) they are about everything in general

Learn something new everyday. . . about myself?!

I am not shooting you down or personally attacking you, but I find many other things funnier than that, such as LOLcats :)

I don't think it was meant to appeal to pathos in terms of the humor department. I think it was meant satirically.

In any case, you do make a good point. :D

Here's a summary of that article:

Macs suck for no apparent reason other than I hate them.

I just saved everybody the trouble of wasting 5 minutes on that lame jumble of words trying to pass itself off as an article

That is exactly why I posted this just for fun and to laugh at the way some people feel about Macs. But I know some people are going to read too much into it and start to take offense to it.

Wow, that writer sure hates macs. I am a mac user, doesn't mean I bash Windows PCs every chance I get, everyone is entitled to their own choice of what they want to buy. He makes it sound as though only an arrogant idiot would buy a mac.

Fixed it for you. A PC is a personal computer...which includes pretty much every OS out there that is used for personal usage.

My reasoning was that Atari's were no longer really supported so it was DOS or Apple - WIMP won out and i am happy. and No, i did not read the Rant.

I read the article. And I fund it quite funny. Why?

Because it is equally plausable to say PC's and alien ware suck for the exact same 10 reasons listed in the article. And the main point here. The facts mean little to people, it's how you spin them around to work for your side of the arguement.

The same 10 points can be said to love or hate Apples and love or hate Non-Apple PCs. It's all in the wording (spin).

I told my friend the exact same thing the way the rant can be flipped on Windoze users in basically the same sense.
