I'm gonna try it but I play my iTunes for the most part from my powerbook to my airport express to my pioneer dts reciever, so I haven't played with the equalizer much in itunes. However, I download to my iPod from my powerbook.
So the it really is a question of what this setting is good for?
It was the first time I used the make preset option and the command 2 to open up
the equalizer.

thanks
gave you a greenie

I usually dont mess with the equalizer, especially on my ipod, sounds better with the eq off.

I don't play around with that on the iPod either but for iTunes playback I like to tinker with it a bit.

I have a custom setting for my e3c canalphones (they have a mid-range hump that the itunes equalizer can even out), but you notice a bit of distortion if you overemphasize the lower frequencies :p

On the iPod it's even worse - nearly every equalizer preset causes the music to distort at one level or another - which really bites...
