Technically Taken on Dec 31st.. Boiler room of an abandoned factory. Less PP than you might think. Available light on a tripod Pentax K20D 1.3 sec,F8 18mm, ISO 400.

Taken with my Christmas present.

I've got a black and white version and a color version, and I couldn't decide which to use. I had a bit of trouble w/ dodge and burn, so that explains the little black outline on the pole.



Here's a link to the color version if anyone's interested. (I toned up the Red a little bit to achieve the reddish glow in the clouds).

I thought that when I posted it I live in a small Yorkshire village on the Pennines and haven't been able to leave the house for 4 days because of the snow !!!

I forget sometimes that not everyone gets to enjoy the 75 degree weather during the winter months.

I don't remember seeing any snow in your pictures though?

Its nearly gone, just slush & ice now but they say its gonna snow off and on for the next week. We get bad weather but not snow lol

That picture was taken on New years day so just after the first lot of snow melted.

I call this Deserted Potatoes On The Shores Of The Island Of Love.

We were on a limited budget and losing light fast. We were about to board a cargo jet, having bartered our Swiss watches in exchange for a ride. As I tried to find a comfortable spot between coconut shells and substandard black market artillery, in the distance I saw these few potatoes struggling to make it to shore, seeking salvage on Love's sands.

As I said there was no light, and the plane was about to take off. I just stuck my arm out the compartment and left the shutter open, and just hoped these refugees would remain still, hoping they were too weak from their voyage to move a limb while I counted down in my mind, 3 1000, 2 1000, 1, one thousand, I whispered.

Yes, this old 35 mm Fujica still has some life in her yet.
