hi, all! i'm new to Mac - and to forums. anyway, as i'm only using mac now, i've got some quesstions. first, i find that some attatchments to my usual emails wont open - like wmv and others. apps like miro cant open them either also, foxtel (which is cable/satellite tv in australia) doesn't download onto mac - only windows. is it worth getting a version of windows and some fusion software or should i just keep playing and learning?:[http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/mac_images/images/smilies/Embarrassed.png

Grab Flip4Mac to play wmv files on your Mac.

Perian will let you play just about everything else.

VLC is a good player to have, it will play DVDs and yet a few more different types of media. Some switch over to this for a lot of their video, although I rarely find the need for it.

For watching over-the-air or cable TV you will need a TV Tuner / video capture device the same as you would in Windows.
