Hi, I'm a new MBP user and I'm trying to use my mac to view DVD's and instant play videos from Netflix on my high-def LCD TV. So far I am able to get video and I tried to connect the audio via the headphone output to the tv's RCA inputs using a "stereo mini to RCA Y cable". I have not been unable to get any audio using this method. Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong or is there another method to achieve audio between the mac and the tv? Thanks

Please provide the make and model # of your TV.

I will also need to know which video port your Mac is plugged into on the TV.

Stay in practice. :) I get burned out with it on occasion.

I agree. I've answered this question for a few friends but not nearly as well as Bob. I managed to get my setup working pretty easily but I'm sure I will bork it up someday soon.

Usually the RCA inputs and the DVI input are two different sources, so it's like trying to combine audio from one source and video from another. Generally I believe most TVs that have a DVI in also have a 3.5mm input for audio on the same source channel.
