Hi, I tried using bootcamp to install windows on my
mac book pro. The install of windows didn't work and now I can't get bak onto Os X. If I restart and hold down option it brings up only 1 option , a picture of a hardrive labeled "windows". HELP Please!!!

Anyway to fix it? Does that totally screw me?

It sounds like you may have overwritten your OS X partition while trying to install Windows. To correct that you will have to reinstall OS X.

Boot your machine with your original install DVD. Insert the DVD, restart your Mac and hold down the "C" key. The machine will boot to the DVD (will take awhile).

Do not install OS X yet.... Instead, select Utilities from the top menu, and then select Disk Utility. Now select the First Aid tab. From here you will need to remove the Boot Camp partition by deleting it. Make sure that the entire hard drive is one partition. Drag the partition line until it encompasses the entire drive.

Now erase the drive by selecting to format it as Mac HFS Journaled. Once that's completed you can continue on to reinstall OS X. If you previously made a Time Machine backup (you should have) you can select to restore from it during the reinstall process.

Before attempting to install Windows again. Print out the Boot Camp assistant instructions and read them carefully.

Regards.
