Is it possible to allow a VGA signal to be displayed on the the new iMacs via the Mini Display port? I have a linux appliance running security sw that has a VGA port and I would like to get rid of it's monitor. If I could view it's display on the iMac, that would free up some space on my desk.

Unless you're planning on buying the new 27" iMac, iMac machines have a video out port only. Go to the Apple store on the web and look at the technical specifications for the iMac. LINK

Regards.

Just out of curiosity, can you not get the information on the display in any other way? (ie: ssh, web access, java app, snmp, X app output tunneled through ssh, etc)
