Virtual PC 2007 - PPC install of XP

Has anyone had any good experience with installing xp on PPC Powermac G5?

I installed XP, but it only allowed me to dedicate 512 megs of ram and 32? meg to video? It ran really poorly, basicly I want to install it to do some basic XP work.

MY specs:

Powermac G5 Dual Core 2.0
7 gigs of ram
6600LE video card

I tried to use Q for osx but it kept crashing during the install and would not finish.

Im just trying to figure a way to use my mac to run basic windows apps so I dont need to keep switching to my xp machine for simple stuff.

No good experiences. Runs very poorly on PPC Macs - Virtual PC is so slow as to be unuseable to be honest. There are, frankly, no good options for a PPC Mac. All the virtualization products (Fusion, Parallels, VirtualBox) require an Intel-based Mac. Sorry for the bad news. You are pretty much stuck with the XP box.

I was hoping I could at least reduce by one the cluster in my office...oh well.

If your basic windows stuff will run in Windows 2000 try installing that in Virtual PC; it uses far less resources than XP.
I had relative success running '98 on a G4 iBook so you might be OK with 2000 on a G5.

Also, if you can get away without installing antivirus software your virtual machine won't get dragged down so much.
