Well i downloaded quicktime 7 today and i have to say i prefer the old one. 7 is slower, uglier and doesnt make their voices go high when u fast forward it.... (i found that funny)

anyway i hope it has better support in tiger :eek:neye:

What did everyone else think?

I like it. It's a little glitchy but overall I don't think it's slower or uglier :)

Make the voices go high? Heck, I loved that too. It's okay, I guess. The resizing feature isn't as smooth as when Steve Jobs showed it in the past, I thought that that was going to be a cool feature, but it's a bit jumpy in the transition. I thought the look was a step forward, but it will be skinnable, so you don't have much worry about soon. I'm sad that I can't play the H.264 videos on my iBook; I would have loved that. I'm still in Panther at the moment too, but I'm also wondering if Quicktime has better improved for Tiger?

I love it! I think it looks awesome and the live resizing is great. I love popping in and out of full screen mode. :D

I still find it insulting and stupid that you have to pay $30 more to have a fullscreen media player...it should be included in the $129 price of the OS.

You can play H.264 videos on your iBook, just not High Definition (HD) videos. H.264 covers a pretty wide range of fidelity, as you get into the higher resolutions it requires more CPU power that's all.

Are they going to make the apple webcasts H.264, that would be great for the quality of them and useful for when a new one is released and lots of people are streaming it at once.

I really hope H.264 becames a well established format on the internet, because the quality is really superb. So I really wish they would start rolling out some other videos to watch for the G4 macs that aren't well suited to play the HD H.264.
