Is there a way to keep your video on all the time?

Hey,
So im pretty new on here. I just needed a question that needs an answer about my mac.

-Is there a way to keep your video on all the time?-

Im in college and my desk is in the only spot in the room and the bad part is the door behind me. I leave my door open while im in here but if im listening to music while on my computer i cant hear people come in my door and say something to me. I was thinking about having my mac video on all the time while i listen to music but when i open photobooth and go to a different screen the picture freezes until i go back into the application. Is there a program that i can use to keep my video on all the time like an ongoing mirror? Thanks

The way i understand it is you want to have your camera on in photobooth so you can see people enter the room behind you ??

Maybe another monitor and a cheap one if your in college where you could have it on that screen so you will have it on all the time ...
