I am about to get a brand new MBP in the mail this week. I currently have an older MPB generation. I was wondering if performance would differ on the new machine if I installed everything fresh compared to porting over all my apps/files through Time Machine from my old MBP.

Does anyone have any experience with this or can shed some insight?

Much thanks!

There should not be any difference in performance unless you have stuff loading at startup that gets imported from your backup resulting in a longer boot time.
