So I have this 16 GB pendrive, which I format to hold windows files, but after formatting it only shows 200 mb.

It's something that I haven't been able to fix as yet, and I would appreciate some help.

Presumably there are no files/data on it and it's formatted to FAT32?

Could it be that the pen drive is divided in 2 partitions, a small one containing a program to unlock the ' protected ' partition by means of a username/password combination ?

I get normal results on the Mac.

And yes, that may well be. It's the well known 200 mb which you get on every drive, pen- or harddrive.
I just haven't had the time to look in on it further.
I will keep you posted.

If there are two partitions on that pen drive, Windows will only "see" the first one and not the second. However, you should be able to use Disk Utility from your Mac to erase the drive and format it as one complete partition.

Regards.

I have this exact same problem on the exact same brand and type of thumbdrive. In disk utility, it doesnt show this first 200 mb partition, so it cant be erased. Did you ever solve this problem?
