As I switcher I do not always know the proper terminology.

The F3 key on my new Macbook Pro, the one with the 3 small rectangles in a big rectangle, performs an action. Expose I think...but not sure.

I use this function a lot, but now instead of showing all the windows that I have open when I hit the key, it shows the desktop. Now if I want to see the windows I have open I have to hold the key down.

It did not do this before. Have I changed a setting somewhere? I went into Expose in the Systems Preferences pane, but could not solve the problem.

Problem solved...thank you Wikipedia.

Command+F3 allowed me to change the way Expose was working.

Your Mac's Specs
2018 15" MBP, 2019 11" iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro
Also, depending on how you have your trackpad motions set up in System Preferences, you can use a downward 4-finger swipe to show all open windows (expose).

And upward 4-finger swipe will show desktop.

I am pretty sure this is specific to Snow Leopard only, though. So it won't work if you're still using Leopard. Depends on how new your MBP is.
