Should i get the $500 mac mini and upgrade to 512mb RAM? Or should I go for the $600 dollar mini and upgrade to 512mb RAM.

I'm going to use it to surf the web, and ocasionally use the GIMP.

I'm thinkin of getting the 500 dollar one, but i don't know the difference between those gigahertz and harddrives.

Thanks for the help.

You probably won't notice a speed difference with the 1.25GHz vs. 1.42GHz with what you're doing, unless you do a lot of heavy image processing in Gimp... but it still won't be a dramatic difference.

The main thing is that the $600 version has twice the hard drive space. I think it's worth the extra $100 for the HD space and the processor speed increase. 40GB is rather small.

Either way, you definitely want the 512MB memory.

Like the others said, pay the extra money and get the bigger HD with the 512 ram.
