I originally posted this in the networking forum which was probably the wrong place. Moved it here to see if anyone has an opinion.
We're considering selling our old G5 iMac and setting up a USB drive on an Airport Extreme as a main drive for iPHoto and iTunes. Only one user (Me) will use the iPhoto library to hopefully keep the shared iPhoto problems away. I'm wondering if the speed of using a wireless network to browse and edit in a large (10K pictures) library will be usable. After doing some initial testing with my macbook looking at the iphoto library on the iMac I'm beginning to think it will be pretty slow. Any experience or suggestions?
