Hi all I have been using my mac now for two weeks and have come up with two problems first is it possible for me to remove garageband as I have no intention of using this program so it is just taking up space.

Secondly I am downloading appleworks 6 (I am trying the software first to see if I like it then I'll buy the proper version) using unison what do I do with the files that I download can I install from these files or do I need to burn onto disc first, if I need to put it to disc how do I do it.

If you don't need garageband, you can trash the application with no problems.

Don't know anything about he second question.

Thanks rman how do I trash it? Do I just drag the icon from applications to the trash basket and if I do does it get rid of all the files?

Yes, just drag it to the trash. It might leave behind a couple .plist Preference files but they aren't very big.

Also, what kind of Mac to you have? Mine came with AppleWorks.

PowerBooks do not come with AppleWorks or Games installed that is only on iBooks, eMacs and iMacs

Once you move the item to the trash. Don't forget to empty the trash.

Just drag it off. When let go of the mouse button the icon will disappear in a poof.

Very easy...move your mouse over it, click it and hold the button, drag it north (or up :) ) and let go the button...

The Guitar will disappear with a little "puff"

That works with every icon. And to put one in the dock, just drag the application's icon into the dock, and it will stick in the dock until you remove it. And always remember, icons in the dock (except Finder and Trash) are only shortcuts.
