Burned my first DVD-R on my iMAC. It was a video clip. It runs fine on my iMAC but not on either one of my DVD players. Anyone run into this problem? Thanks.

I know I haven't - I've burned quite a few. Can you describe what you did to create your DVD?

Not sure if this helps, but I have a couple of DVD players that refuse to play DVD-R's....they will only recognize DVD+R's for some reason.

I put the disk in, hit "ignore" when it said I inserted a blank disk and and asked what I wanted to do. I then right clicked on my file and selected "burn CD" or whatever it had listed on the pop-up box. It started burning right away.

Sounds like you burnt a data disk rather than a DVD movie disk.

Try giving the open source Burn a go, which will give you more options as to the type of disk you wish to burn.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone. I didn't know there was such a thing as a movie disk. I'm new at this. Thanks again.

There isn't :) There are data files, audio files, movie files - lots of different formats for all of them - but all (or most of them) will burn to DVDs. The important thing is to ensure that you have the right kind of movie file to view on your computer screen or your TV.

+1 for Burn. That's what I use.
