Curser and keyboard not working on my 2yr old Macbook??

Good day all!

I'm having problems with my 2yr old Macbook, the cursor and the keyboard are not working the cursor is stuck in the left corner on the screen and the keyboard is dead. Everything else is working fine. I have an external keyboard and mouse hooked up to it and it works as normal. I have restarted it and taken the battery out with no change in the condition.I'm baffled! does anyone have a clue what is going on??

To me it sounds like there is a problem with the connecting cables for them, so take it into a local mac repair shop and they will set everything right.
