I'm sick of seeing the windows advert, the 8 year old kid making a video.
"I'm a pc and I'm eight and a half years old"

I wish apple would make one with an 80 year old making a video
"I'm an apple mac and I'm eighty and a half years old"

That would be good eh?

Good point, kids nowadays have grown up with PCs that stuff is second nature...

Now an 80 year old doing something like that would be much more impressive since it'd be a totally new concept to them...

You should pitch that. It would be hilarious and at the same time astonishing.

I have an aunt in her 60s and she has never touched a Mac in her life. She is a programer. She asked to use my MacBook, not knowing it was a Mac. >_>"

She struggled with the trackpad for a few minutes. After about 5 minutes she calls me and says she is getting herself a Mac.

No. Enough with the "I'm an operating system" thing. I never thought I'd see people try to do something I thought I'd only ever see hardcore computer geeks do.

The thing about Apple's ads is that typically one person says "I'm a PC" and the other says "I'm a mac". Yes, one of them is a PC the other is a mac. But they're both PC's!!!

Personally I think the Apple Ad campaign has run it's course and should be scraped. It was kinda funny the first few times, but now it's just a drag. I mainly object to the fact that they further the misnomer that a PC can only run Windows and that a Mac is not a PC but something else..

The Microsoft ad is just insipid with their attempt to try to show pride in being a PC which is stupid..

Just my 2 cents..

Actually the song in the latest scrappy MS ads is "Final Countdown" by a band called Europe (I think). That was SO 80s. Still, mixing childish cartoons with reviews of the RC of 7 shows how mature MS is about Windows 7. Yuck. I also agree though: Apple needs to "Think Different" on the "Get a Mac" ads. And both companies need to stray away from the "I'm an OS". Hello? So 2005?! :(

Ok, I'm gonna have to chime in here...

I personally am sick of the ads from BOTH Apple and Microsoft, get over it guys, each platform has it's advantages and disadvantages. Just like the old Chevy v Ford argument, I run PCs and Macs in my home, the PCs run XP (x3) and Vista (x2) and the Macs, Leopard and Snow Leopard, I like both Mac OS X and Windows for seperate reasons. and while I won't bore the users with the list I'll just sum it up into this sentence.

Use what makes sense to you, or do what some do and run both and be at peace.

I think both companies realise how important advertising is to there sales. I just wish they would make them with some humour and not keep the mac v's pc thing going.

If you have the contact details for apple lets drop them an email. How about making your own add and placing it on youtube.

Take Care

I work on peoples PC's by day and you would not believe how many people still do not know theres no virus or spies to fight on a Mac. That should be the focus of the Ad people at Apple.

Very good point, now that would improve sales.
