Yes, Windows Mobile 6 has been implemented on the newest HTC.
Don't know the type, but the phone seems to be way better than the actual software it was designed to promote... go figure

And obviously Windows sucks....again.... or was that still?

Windows Mobile 6.5 is no iPhone killer.

I had the distinct displeasure of setting up a Samsung Omnia to connect to our Exchange server, running WinMo 6.5 just recently.

The Omnia has no physical keyboard, in fact the whole phone seems to mimic the iPhone, although the screen isn't as big and the unit isn't quite as slim or pleasant to hold. What's worse is that WinMo was designed from the ground-up to be stylus and keyboard-driven. The problem is, they tried to tack on a really poor on-screen keyboard, and there's no place to hold a stylus. So, one has to connect the stylus via a leash to the side of the phone, because the screen just isn't nearly accurate enough to use your finger all the time.

It's almost as if they went through the list of interesting features of the iPhone and tried to graft them onto WinMo 5.x. The trouble is, depending on the context, the graft-ons don't work right or obscure the screen. Really, it's a sad shame that a company like Samsung would allow something this bad to make it out the door. There's no way anyone did any kind of QA testing on this device - or they did and thought "well, we don't want to jeopardize our relationship with Microsoft by telling them that this is the worst form of crappy software we've ever seen, so let's just hope people are dumb enough not to comparison shop it.
