I'm buying my friends G4 12" Powerbook along with ILife, and a carrying case for $1000. It's in mint condition with no case scratches, battery charges fully, screen is flawless and the keys are immacualte. Anything else I should look for before I buy it? Oh yeah it also has a superdrive.

What's wrong with used computers? All of my Macs were purchased as refurbs from Apple. I got a computer direct from the manufacturer, with the same exact warranty as a new one, I can still get APP for them, plus I saved literally hundreds of dollars. So what if someone else had it first, they run just great. I also have some second hand PowerBook G3s. I guess to each his own, but I would rather save a bunch of money and get a used or refubished system, that looks, feels and operates the same as a full priced new one.

I'd buy a refurb through Apple, but I'd think twice before getting one from someone on the street.

Since Roadblock was buying it from his friend, he can be relatively comfortable about the machine's pedigree and history. Plus he can go back to his friend with any questions about it.
