I'm having a bit of an issue with my MacBook that has appeared since I upgraded it to Snow Leopard, and I wonder if anyone can suggest a solution.
You see, I really, REALLY cannot stand Safari, so I don't use it at all. I rely on a combination of Firefox and Chrome. I imported all my bookmarks into Safari so I could use Spotlight to open bookmarks in Firefox once I set it as my default browser. This worked fine in Leopard.
However, as soon as I upgraded to Snow Leopard this stopped working. I've set Firefox as the default browser, from both Firefox and Safari, and still every time I try to open a bookmarked web page via Spotlight, it opens in Safari. I've tried everything I can think of - I've set Firefox as the default application for accessing offline HTML documents and it still doesn't work. I actually tried moving Safari to the wastebasket and it just opens it in TextEdit instead.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
