Did I read somewhere that there was an app that will monitor for updates for some/all of the non-apple apps I have downloaded?

Remember reading this but cant find where it was and searches so far unsuccessful. Appreciate your help.

I think you're looking for AppFresh.

Do I need it or does Software Update cover EVERYTHING off?

I'd assumed SU only covers off Apple stuff?

Yes, Software Update only covers Apple software or software that is supplied with the operating system. As to whether you need it, it's up to you. Most programs though have a feature that checks for newer versions.

Just downloaded it but it doesn't update. Gives me a "Cannot read" my applications/directory. Running Snow Leopard - is that the problem?
