View Full Version : Splitting VOB files across 2 DVDS

I have a DVD download that comes to over 7gb which obviously won't fit onto a single recordable DVD. I can't use double-layer discs so I need to split the files across 2 regular DVD-Rs. I'm using Toast Titanium 9 by the way. Can anyone assist?
Many thanks!

Hmm, not easy at all, because there's not really any way of knowing if you are splitting a chapter. 2 options as far as I can see.
Create 2 VIDEO_TS folders, each with half of the files in, and burn 2 discs that way, or combine the lot in Toast, and use Popcorn to compress them down into a single 4.4 gb file.

Thanks for that. Can you tell me how do I use Popcorn with toast?

It should be built in, it was on mine.
You should have it as a plug in on the side bar from memory (I'm on Toast 10 now, so can't check).

Can you import the VOBs as one big video in iMovie or FCE? Once it is in, you can choose what to burn.
