Just had my new iMAC a couple weeks. I was trying to burn some old documents from a flash drive to a CD. When they transferred, I drug the CD to trash to eject it. It went to trash, but didn't eject the CD. It's stuck! When I shut down, my computer just locked up. I finally had to unplug it (I know that's bad, but I couldn't get it to shut down). It came back on and is running fine than goodness, but the CD is still stuck. Please help!

Just Like Magic!

It worked! Thank you sooooo much. I was sweating bullets. Wished I knew what I did wrong, but now I know how to fix it. Thanks again.

Thats a good trick. Never had that happen. Would this work with a bluetooth mouse as well? That is.. will my mouse connect soon enough for me to utilize this trick.

I don't know if this trick works with a Bluetooth mouse, but it works with a trackpad button.

I’m not sure whether this works with a bluetooth mouse, but you can get the equivalent behavior by holding down the eject key (⏏ or F12) on your keyboard during boot.

For this and other startup combinations, check out this Apple help document.
