I am thinking about finally making the switch to an iMac.

I noticed on one other forum that there was a recommendation to wait buying an iMac, as a new version may soon be released. Does anyone have any advice on whether or not I should wait? If a new version is indeed soon anticipated then I am happy to wait things out.

Thank you.

If its not urgent to buy one then yes wait a couple of months for the release (nothing confirmed yet).

If not just pay up and get it.

Tell me a time that someone isn't saying..."Don't buy now...a new version may be released soon!"...when that happens, computers will be obsolete!!;D

In this particular case I have not heard those rumors...but then who knows, Apple could make an announcement tomorrow!!!

Are you throughly confused now???;D

If I was to put money on it, I'd guess a slight price drop next week and a refresh around February time.

Like pigoo3 said, everybody is always saying a new version of something is going to be released, because it always is. I understand if you're about to purchase an iMac a week or two before Macworld, but otherwise don't base your purchases on when new versions are coming out, because when the new one comes out, there's only going to be a newer one coming out in another year, so just go for it now.

You could wait until the 9th just for the slight chance that Apple mention anything about iMacs or any price drops or anything, but other than that, I would say go for it now, I've not heard any rumours of new iMacs lately. Apart from "Quad iMacs coming soon" like everyone has said since 2007 :p.

Besides, current iMac specs are pretty good anyway, and if new iMacs did come out, it wouldn't be until early next year and the same specs as now wouldn't be that much cheaper anyway.
