A point in the right direction would be nice here....

Just got a new MacBook Pro 17" and understand MySQL and PHP is already in there. I get quite a few versions of doing this. Does anyone have the best solution to making it all work properly?

Hi, welcome to the forums.

PHP is installed on the Mac, however, MySQL is not. You will need to go to MySQL and download the latest .dmg file and do the install.
